Weight pull is an advanced exercise, dating back to the earliest of times when dogs were used as draft animals. Some dogs will take to it, and some wont, don't try forcing the dog if he/she doesn't want to do it. First thing to do is get a good harness (freight style harness and not leather harness) its not advisable to use a standard collar as they will put alot of pressure on the dogs neck and throat.
It is a good idea to start weight pull with a light weight, to start with use a chain or tyre even windows weights can be used, they can easily be cut in half if you find the weights are too heavy. Gradually build up the weight as the dog improves. And remember if the dogs enjoy it then so will you.
